God saved me during my sophomore year at the University of Idaho. Lured by the promise of a free breakfast, I attended church for the first time in my adult life at 20 years old.  The gospel was preached and the Spirit shook me to my core. Jesus, the Son of God, died for my sin, and I knew I needed Him. From that day forward, I became obsessed with knowing God, who sent His Son to bring me near.

Having grown up in a seasonal Christian home, Jesus was on and off a part of my family’s life. We attended church sporadically throughout the years, but our functional “god” was basketball success. Achievement and accomplishment dominated my mind and heart until that pivotal season my sophomore year, when God made the gospel real to me.

Surrounded by Christian community and attending the church where I first heard the gospel (Resonate Moscow), God showed me His love, discipline, and kindness, and began transforming me from the inside out. As part of a healthy church living on mission, participation in God’s mission became normal. So when I graduated, it was an easy decision to join a church plant in Missoula, MT.

I moved, joined the church staff, and helped start a church from scratch. God was faithful to us. Disciples were made, leaders were developed, and by 2022, we were looking to plant another church. There was a need for a church planter. God had equipped me to step into the role. I said yes and in the Winter of 2023, 13 other people and I planted Resonate Church Grand Junction. I’ve been blessed to pastor the church ever since.

Campus Missionaries

I grew up right in the heart of the bible belt in Texas. Growing up in the bible belt I was very familiar with the story of Jesus, having gone to church, attended Christian summer camps and youth groups, but I never knew how the gospel truly applied to my life. I could have told you that Jesus died for my sins, but I was pretty apathetic towards the story of Jesus and eventually in my late high school years I became agnostic.

I went into college having no saving knowledge of the gospel and a hardened heart towards Christ. Despite this, I chose to spend a lot of time around church friends in college, mostly because I needed a community and in Texas where you find community is at church.

Through these church friends God blessed me with the opportunity to live in a men’s ministry house, and God used my time living there to transform my life. It was through the faithfulness of those church friends to share the gospel with me that God saved me.

Shortly after I was saved, I felt compelled by the Spirit to start using my time for His mission on the college campus. I joined the collegiate ministry leadership team at my church, interned with my church, and went on a summer mission trip to New York City, where I was introduced to Resonate for the first time. On that trip I also met my now wife, Rachel, who having also been saved in college, also felt a calling from the Spirit towards collegiate ministry.

Eventually Rachel and I got married, and both joined Resonate staff as collegiate missionaries. A year into our marriage we joined a church planting team moving to Grand Junction CO, and two and a half years later we are still living and working for Resonate Grand Junction. We love the college campus and we love college students, and if it is God’s will we hope to continue to partner with God in His work on the college campus for the long haul.

I grew up in a christian family, but my faith was not my own until I was a freshman in college. I was raised in the church and had heard the gospel my whole life, but there were many priorities and idols that were above the Lord in my heart and mind.

When I moved to Missoula, MT to go to college in 2019, I got connected with Resonate Missoula, a brand new church plant, and God used them to show me my desperate need for Him. Through discipleship and radical community, God showed me that the gospel that I had heard my whole life was not only true, but it changes everything. Jesus dying on the cross for my sin, taking on my punishment, and rising again to give me new life had been only a story for so long, but after that fall it became my everything.

Throughout the rest of college I was blessed to serve and lead with our church in Missoula, and eventually joined the staff team as a Campus Missionary in August of 2022. God used all of those experiences to grow me and teach me more about Him and His heart for the ends of the earth. Because of this, we said yes when Jordan Scott asked my husband and I to consider joining his team to plant a new church in Grand Junction, CO.

We both were saved by Jesus in college and we want to be a part of His saving work in the lives of others. We both still work on the Grand Junction staff team as Campus Missionaries and are blessed to do life and raise our son Callum alongside some of our best friends as we participate in God’s global mission to seek and save the lost.

Campus Missionary

I grew up in a culturally christian family that sometimes went to church, but I did not understand the gospel or know that God wanted a personal relationship with me. Instead, I was chasing academic and athletic success, believing it would give my life meaning and value. This led me to running cross country and track at Kent State University, where during my sophomore year I came to know God personally and my life was forever changed.

I had been invited to read the Bible with someone, and three chapters into Genesis I was shocked to realize that God wanted a personal relationship with me and that Christianity was about far more than just following the rules and being a good person. I was baptized in December 2019 and spent the rest of my college years growing in my relationship with God, spending lots of time in my Bible and in prayer. Thanks to a faithful friend of mine, I started to grasp the concept of mission just as I was approaching graduation in 2021.

Right after college, I got connected with Resonate Church during a “fun summer” in Missoula, MT, which turned into two years of living in gospel-centered community and learning to live on mission. In 2023, I moved to Grand Junction on a church plant so I could be a part of building community like what I had been so blessed by in Missoula in a place that didn’t already have it.

In fall 2025, I joined staff with Resonate Church as a campus missionary to meet the need in our church for a full-time female staff member and to maximize this season of my life for reaching college students with the gospel the same way I was reached during my college years. It has been a privilege to serve in this way and to watch in awe as God transforms the lives of the people around me.
